Tour Overiew

Beginning in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, and concluding in sprawling coastal city Karachi, Pakistan on a Shoestring is designed to give first-time visitors a flavor of Pakistan’s history, culture and scenery. You’ll visit mosques and cathedrals, mausoleums and gardens, museums and libraries and have the chance to swim in the Arabian Sea. You’ll trek among hills that give Islamabad its reputation for being one of the greenest capital cities. And of course, you’ll get to sample and fall in love with Pakistani cuisine!

Welcome to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan! Rise and shine, you’ll start the first day of your tour by trekking in the Margalla Hills National Park and getting to know your new travel buddies. Your hike gives you the chance to savour views of Pakistan’s capital nestled amongst plenty of greenery. There will be plenty of time to take photos from the Daman-e-Koh lookout.We’ll step back in time at Saidpur Village, a hilltop village marked by a grand Hindu temple at its entrance. In the afternoon, it’s a whistle-stop tour of Islamabad’s finest bits. You’ll visit the Faisal Mosque, the largest mosque in Pakistan and get to brush up on some local history at the Lok Virsa Heritage Museum.Reflect on your day and break the ice with your fellow travellers over dinner at The Monal.
